STAINLESS STEEL BOOSTER PUMPS
Tsurumi has launched an advanced range of stainless steel in-line booster pumps for duties to 85m3/h at pressures up to 20 bar.
The new pumps are of single- and multi-stage vertical centrifugal design. They have been developed specifically to plug the market gap for a competitively priced all-stainless steel booster pump range.
Other manufacturers offer only a partial stainless steel component content in their products.
Acknowledging the potential size of the South African market, Tsurumi carried out simultaneous launches of the new range in both South Africa and Japan, ensuring that the local market has access to the latest Japanese technology.
Dynamic Fluid Control (DFC) will distribute the booster pumps as an addition to Tsurumi’s submersible pumps, which have been successful for many years in local mining and wastewater applications.
Pricing of the new product is comparable to competitors’ pumps of similar duty, in spite of manufacture from stainless steel throughout.
“The superior quality of these pumps makes them exceptional value for money. We expect the market to take notice,” said Sara Martin, DFC’s product manager for Tsurumi.
“We plan to quickly become a significant supplier to the booster pump market,” she added.
“There is a very wide range of applications, and it will take time to establish the demand for each model,” she said.
“We have identified the need to boost operating pressures in industrial and municipal water supply systems, cooling water systems, high pressure washing plants and washdown, domestic water supply, irrigation and dewatering applications, boiler feed and condensate recovery, and fire-fighting.
“We have a Tsurumi booster pump to meet any requirement, and we are open to all requests,” said Martin.
“We will build up stock of those units which sell regularly, but the process of establishing economic holdings will obviously take time,” she said.
As with Tsurumi’s submersible pump range, DFC will channel sales of the in-line booster pumps through authorised distributors, with technical information and advice being supplied by either the distributor or the company’s Benoni head office.
Distributors are currently undergoing technical training on the new product. |
